Islamabad: Law enforcement authorities have arrested a resident of Ghotki on charges of allegedly forging an official letter while falsely claiming to be an employee of the National Assembly, officials said.

According to investigators, the suspect is accused of preparing and using a forged document to misrepresent his identity and gain unauthorized benefits. Authorities said the alleged forged letter was presented as an official communication linked to the National Assembly.

Following preliminary inquiries, law enforcement agencies registered a case against the suspect and took him into custody. Officials stated that further investigations are underway to determine whether the forged document was used in additional activities or if others were involved.

Authorities are also examining the authenticity of related documents and gathering evidence to establish the full scope of the alleged forgery. They emphasized that legal action would be taken in accordance with the findings of the investigation.

Officials reiterated that strict measures are being taken against the misuse of government documents and the impersonation of public officials, urging citizens to verify official credentials before relying on such communications.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional details are expected as the inquiry progresses.
