The federal government has decided to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) for disease diagnosis under the Prime Minister’s Health Card Program.
According to sources, the initiative will enable faster, more effective, and more accurate diagnosis of cancer, neurological disorders, and other complex diseases, with approximately 200 million Pakistanis expected to benefit from it.
The AI system will be implemented in 1,100 public and private hospitals. An agreement between the Health Card Program and Alibaba Group is expected next month.
Billions of rupees in diagnostic costs are expected to be saved through the use of artificial intelligence. The project will be implemented in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.
The Prime Minister has invited the head of Alibaba Group to visit Pakistan. The federal government spends Rs10 billion annually on the Prime Minister’s Health Card, while Punjab spends Rs60 billion and Balochistan spends Rs10 billion.
