HOLLYWOOD — The ensemble cast of Hollywood action star Jason Statham’s highly anticipated meta-action-comedy, Jason Statham Stole My Bike, has expanded with the addition of three prominent actors. According to Variety, Chinese cinema icon Eddie Peng, alongside acclaimed British stars Daniel Ings and Artie Wilkinson Hunt, have officially boarded the project. Directed by renowned filmmaker David Leitch, the movie will feature Statham in a unique lead role alongside actress Hannah Waddingham. While specific plot details are being guarded closely by production houses 87North and Black Bear, it has been revealed that Statham will follow in the footsteps of Nicolas Cage (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent) and Jean-Claude Van Damme (JCVD) by portraying a highly fictionalized, imaginary version of himself on screen. The film is currently slated for a North American theatrical release on August 6, 2027.
The new additions bring a diverse blend of international star power to the David Leitch directorial venture. Eddie Peng is a massive name in Asian cinema, notably starring in The Great Wall and the 2024 Cannes Un Certain Regard-winning film Black Dog, and is set to lead the upcoming Chinese-language adaptation of The Night Manager. Meanwhile, Daniel Ings—known for his standout roles in The Gentlemen, Sex Education, and the upcoming A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms—reunites with his former co-star Hannah Waddingham. Rising young talent Artie Wilkinson Hunt, heavily praised for his award-nominated theater background and roles in Masters of the Universe, also joins the high-octane project. Co-written by Allison Farel and Scott Chernov, fans are eagerly anticipating a refreshing, comedic shift from Statham’s traditional, gritty action-thriller roles.
