Sheikh Zayed Hospital Lahore has achieved a major milestone in the medical field by successfully performing Punjab’s first robotic total knee arthroplasty in the public sector.
According to sources, with this achievement, Sheikh Zayed Hospital has become the first government hospital to use advanced robotic technology for this procedure.
The advanced surgery was performed by Professor Dr. Wasif Ali Shah in collaboration with RECH International, providing the patient with a safe, effective, and highly precise medical procedure in line with international standards.
On this occasion, Dr. Muhammad Hatif Iqbal said that the promotion of advanced medical technology in the public sector is an important need of the time, while under the leadership of Chairperson Professor Dr. Ayesha Humayun, Sheikh Zayed Hospital continues to play a significant role in providing modern healthcare facilities.
According to experts, robotic knee replacement surgery is more precise, safer, and more effective than conventional treatment methods, leading to faster recovery and better outcomes for patients.
The Departments of Orthopedics, Anesthesia, Radiology, and the Operation Theatre (OT) team also played an important role in the successful procedure.
