The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) has officially released the schedule for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Annual-II examinations. Students across the province are set to begin their papers on October 18, marking a critical window for those aiming to improve their grades or clear supplementary subjects.

The exams will run through the end of the month, with the board finalizing the date sheet late Tuesday. Officials confirmed that both morning and evening shifts will remain in effect, a standard logistical measure to manage the volume of candidates appearing for the secondary level assessments.

The board’s decision to move forward with the October timeline follows a series of administrative delays that had left thousands of students in limbo. With the release of this schedule, the pressure now shifts to the examination centers. Authorities have ordered all invigilators to ensure strict adherence to the new SOPs, which include enhanced security protocols and a zero-tolerance policy regarding mobile phones inside the premises.

“We have streamlined the registration process to ensure no student is left out,” said a senior board official. He added that roll number slips will be available for download on the official BISE portal starting Friday, urging students to print them well ahead of their first paper to avoid last-minute server bottlenecks.

For many, these exams are more than just a formality—they represent a second chance at college admissions. With the academic calendar already tight, the board has committed to a rapid assessment period. Results are tentatively expected within 45 days of the final paper, keeping the timeline aligned with the current admissions cycle for higher secondary programs.

Students are advised to cross-check their specific subject codes against the final date sheet posted on the official website. The board warned that any discrepancy in the roll number slip must be reported to the IT department within 48 hours of issuance.

The clock is now ticking for thousands of candidates. With less than two weeks to prepare, the focus is entirely on the final push before the first exam day.
