LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced plans to establish six new Schools of Eminence and two Daanish Schools as part of its efforts to expand access to quality education across the province.

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced the plan during a visit to the School of Eminence at Nishter Park, where he reviewed the institution’s educational facilities, infrastructure and other arrangements.

The proposed expansion includes six additional Schools of Eminence and two Daanish Schools. The initiative is aimed at providing students with improved educational facilities and creating more opportunities for children, particularly in areas where access to high-quality schooling remains limited.

Daanish Schools are designed to provide quality education to children from remote and underdeveloped areas of Punjab. The Punjab Daanish Schools and Centres of Excellence Authority says its mission is to educate and groom children in underserved communities.

The expansion of Schools of Eminence is also part of Punjab’s wider education reform programme. The provincial government has been working to establish these institutions across different districts, with earlier plans targeting hundreds of Schools of Eminence across the province.

Officials believe the new schools can help improve educational standards by offering better learning environments, upgraded facilities and greater access to quality schooling.

The announcement comes as Punjab continues to focus on expanding and upgrading its public education system. The government is also working on initiatives aimed at improving school infrastructure, learning opportunities and educational access for students in different parts of the province.

The establishment of the additional institutions is expected to strengthen the province’s network of quality schools and provide more students with opportunities to receive better education closer to their communities.
