Precious metal prices moved lower in Pakistan on Saturday as losses in the international bullion market weighed on domestic gold and silver rates.
According to rates issued by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), 24-karat gold dropped by Rs4,300 per tola, bringing the price down to Rs436,336. The rate for 10 grams of gold also fell sharply, losing Rs3,687 to settle at Rs374,087.
The decline followed weakness in the international bullion market, where gold slipped by $43 per ounce to $4,138. Silver also came under pressure in the local market. Its price fell by Rs56 to Rs6,522 per tola, while the rate for 10 grams declined by Rs48 to Rs5,591.
Saturday’s losses reversed some of the gains recorded a day earlier. On Friday, gold had climbed by Rs2,000 per tola to Rs440,636, while the 10-gram rate increased by Rs1,715 to Rs377,774. Silver had also gained Rs50 per tola on Friday, reaching Rs6,578.
Gold prices have remained volatile during the week, reflecting continued fluctuations in international bullion markets.
