Pakistani film icons Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed were honoured in the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday during a special ceremony hosted by Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi. The event celebrated their remarkable contributions to Pakistani cinema as the duo promotes their upcoming romantic comedy Love Guru, set for release this Eid.

Held in Dubai, the ceremony was also attended by Consul General Hussain Muhammad and other diplomats. Ambassador Tirmizi presented commemorative shields to both actors and lauded their impact on elevating Pakistan’s cultural presence globally.

“The creative arts are one of Pakistan’s strongest forms of soft power,” said Tirmizi. “Artists like Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed bring our stories to the world and strengthen our cultural identity.”

Both Mahira and Humayun expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition and thanked the Pakistani community in the UAE for their continued love and support.

Directed by Nadeem Baig and written by Vasay Chaudhry, Love Guru marks the pair’s long-awaited onscreen reunion after nearly a decade since their last collaboration in Bin Roye. The film follows the story of Sophia, an architect juggling love and family expectations, while Saeed plays a charming flirt who pretends to be a relationship expert.

The film has already made waves internationally. Just last week, Love Guru became the first Pakistani movie to have its trailer featured on the iconic digital screens of New York’s Times Square—marking a historic moment for the country’s film industry.

Love Guru is set to release this Eid and is already generating buzz as one of the most anticipated films of the year.
