KARACHI, October 14, 2026: Police have formed a new investigation team to examine the deaths of five members of a family whose bodies were discovered inside a house in Gulshan-e-Falak Naz Society, in Karachi’s Bin Qasim area.
According to police sources, investigators will record statements from Shahzaib’s close friends, some of whom reportedly ended their friendships with him recently. Police want to establish why the relationships broke down and whether the circumstances are relevant to the case.
The investigation team will include officers from Bin Qasim and Malir City police divisions, an information technology officer and two station house officers.
Preliminary post-mortem findings confirmed that Shahzaib and his wife, Saba, died from gunshot wounds to the head. The causes of death of Shahzaib’s sister, Shumaila, and his two young daughters, Aizal and Arya, remain undetermined pending laboratory and forensic reports.
Investigators are also examining the family’s mobile phones, a pistol recovered from the scene, footage recorded at the house and details surrounding the purchase of the property. Forensic tests are expected to help clarify the circumstances of the deaths.
Police have not yet established a definitive account of what happened. The causes of all five deaths and the possible role of any other individuals remain under investigation.
