KARACHI: The rising prices of mobile phones are making smartphones increasingly unaffordable for middle-class consumers in Karachi, with shopkeepers reporting a significant increase in prices over recent months.
According to a mobile phone shop owner, a handset that previously cost around Rs. 23,000 is now selling for approximately Rs. 40,000, putting additional financial pressure on consumers already struggling with rising living costs.
The sharp increase in prices has made it difficult for many people to replace their old devices or purchase smartphones for everyday use. Students, salaried individuals and budget-conscious buyers are among those affected by the rising cost of mobile phones.
