The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPk) government has announced summer vacations for all public and private colleges, universities, and higher education institutions across the province, according to an official notification issued on Friday.

Educational institutions in hot zones will remain closed from June 1 to August 15, while those in winter zones will observe vacations from July 1 to July 31.

Despite the closures, BS (4-year) and associate degree program classes and exams will continue as per the approved academic calendar, the notification clarified.

The announcement, made by the Higher Education, Archives and Libraries Department, has been circulated to key stakeholders, including the Governor, Chief Minister, administrative secretaries, vice-chancellors of universities, the Higher Education Regulatory Authority, and other relevant officials.

This decision comes as temperatures rise across parts of the province, with the government emphasizing the move is aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff.
