Eidul Adha Festivities Continue with Sacrifices, Feasts, and Family Gatherings
KARACHI: The celebrations of Eidul Adha entered their second day on Sunday, as families across Pakistan gathered to perform animal sacrifices, share festive meals, and embrace the spirit of devotion, gratitude, and unity.
The occasion commemorates the profound sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son Prophet Ismael (AS), with citizens honoring the tradition by offering animal sacrifices in accordance with Islamic teachings. The meat is being shared generously with family members, neighbors, and those in need.
Municipal authorities in cities and towns have implemented special cleanliness measures, ensuring efficient disposal of offal and waste throughout the three-day celebration.
Mosques and charitable organizations are also playing an active role, organizing meat distribution drives to help underprivileged families enjoy the festive spirit.
Public spaces, parks, and entertainment venues are bustling with visitors, while children in colorful attire are enjoying swings and outdoor festivities. Many families and groups of friends are hosting rooftop and open-air barbecue gatherings, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
As the celebrations continue into the third day, officials have urged the public to adhere to health and hygiene guidelines during sacrificial activities.
The government has declared a three day public holiday for Eidul Adha, spanning from Saturday to Monday.
