Veteran Pakistani actor Arbaz Khan has blamed fellow actor Shaan Shahid for contributing to the downfall of the country’s film industry.
Speaking during a recent podcast, Arbaz expressed his concerns about the deteriorating state of Pakistani cinema. He stated that Shaan Shahid was once considered a superstar, and his presence alone was seen as a guarantee of a film’s success. However, Arbaz claimed that Shaan failed to fulfill his responsibilities as a leading figure in the industry.
Arbaz labeled Shaan as “unprofessional,” alleging that despite having a fixed shooting schedule from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Shaan would often arrive on set around 3 p.m., working only two to three hours a day. This behavior, he said, caused severe disruptions in production and affected the overall quality of films.
He further claimed that Shaan’s frequent issues with availability and shooting dates became a persistent headache for producers. Arbaz insisted that such unprofessional conduct played a significant role in the decline of the film industry.
Shaan Shahid was once among the most celebrated stars of Pakistani cinema, dominating film posters and screens for years. Yet, according to Arbaz, the actor’s irresponsible attitude contributed greatly to the industry’s current challenges.
