Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal, during his visit to Quetta, chaired a high-level meeting on polio eradication, where national and provincial coordinators briefed him in detail about the current polio situation.

‎On the occasion, the minister stated that no polio case has been reported from Balochistan so far this year. He emphasized that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, vigorous efforts against polio are ongoing and will continue.

‎‎He asserted that both federal and provincial governments are united in the fight against polio. “Reject all forms of negative perceptions and ensure children’s vaccination. The entire nation must unite against polio,” he said.

‎Mustafa Kamal hailed polio workers as true national heroes, acknowledging their sacrifices. He called on religious scholars, teachers, and elders to actively support the polio campaign. “Polio is incurable, while cancer has treatment options,” he added.

‎He urged parents to ensure that children under the age of five receive polio drops during every campaign. “All countries, including Muslim nations, have eradicated polio through this very vaccine,” he noted.

‎The federal health minister clarified that the same vaccine used globally is also being administered in Pakistan. He also pointed out that even the Taliban government in Afghanistan is conducting strong anti-polio campaigns. “The polio virus still exists among us we must not be negligent,” he warned.
