‎ A second person has died from the Congo virus in Karachi, raising concerns about the spread of the deadly disease.

‎The latest victim, a 26-year-old young man from Ibrahim Hyderi, was admitted to the Infectious Diseases Hospital. According to doctors, he was brought in with high fever and symptoms of bleeding.

‎Medical experts confirm that this is the second Congo virus-related death reported in Karachi this year. The cases have emerged particularly after the Eid-ul-Adha holiday.

‎‎It is worth noting that just a day earlier, a 42-year-old man also succumbed to the virus in Karachi. His test had returned positive on June 16, and he passed away on June 17.

‎According to health specialists, the Congo virus is a life-threatening illness with very limited chances of prevention. It is transmitted from animals to humans, and also from person to person. Symptoms include high fever, bleeding from the gums, nose, and in bodily waste.

‎Health authorities are urging the public to exercise extreme caution, especially those who come into contact with animals or work in slaughterhouses.
