Karachi’s Malir district police, in a major breakthrough, arrested a street criminal involved in multiple robberies while posing as a ride service provider. Acting on a tip-off and using technical intelligence, Steel Town Police apprehended the suspect from within their jurisdiction.
According to police officials, the arrested suspect, identified as Yousuf (son of Villan), would offer rides to unsuspecting citizens and take them to secluded locations, where he would rob them at gunpoint, stealing cash, mobile phones, and other valuables.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to being involved in several street crimes across different police station jurisdictions, including Steel Town. He also admitted that he, along with his accomplices, targeted an elderly woman who was returning home after collecting her pension from a bank.
Police recovered stolen cash, a 30-bore pistol with rounds, two mobile phones, and a Honda motorcycle used in the robberies from the suspect’s possession. The recovered motorcycle is currently being checked for records by AVLC (Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell).
CCTV footage has also surfaced showing the suspect conducting surveillance before one of the robberies. Two of the suspect’s accomplices remain at large, and raids are being carried out to apprehend them.
Steel Town Police have registered a case against the arrested suspect and initiated further investigation.
