Federal Urdu University, Karachi (FUUAST) held a conference, entitled Message of Martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA) at the Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman Auditorium, Gulshan-e-Iqbal campus. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari presided the event and the chief guest was the well known Islamic scholar Dr. Merajul Huda Siddiqui.
Sabir Abu Maryam, General Secretary, Palestine Foundation Pakistan also spoke. There were praiseworthy speeches made by the speakers about the supreme sacrifice of Imam Hussain (RA) that his resistance against the tyranny and injustice is a light to humanity to follow.
Dr. Shinwari, the Vice Chancellor stressed that the message of Karbala is that of the truth, justice and resistance to oppression. He added that the struggles of Imam Hussain will forever remain to be an inspiration to the lovers of freedom till the end of days.
The event was hosted by a registrar Dr. Saadia Khalil and Dr. Atiya thanked the guests. The meeting ended by praying and praising martyrs of Karbala and the renewal of unity and solidarity in the Muslim Ummah.
