Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been injured while shooting for his upcoming action film King and has been shifted to the United States for medical treatment.
According to Indian media reports, the incident occurred during an action sequence being filmed in Mumbai. Sources close to the production revealed that the actor sustained a back injury while performing his own stunt. While the injury is not said to be critical, doctors have advised at least a month of rest for full recovery.
The accident reportedly happened during the shooting of a high-octane scene where Shah Rukh insisted on doing the stunt himself. Insiders say this isn’t the first time the actor has been injured on set. Back in 2017, he suffered a neck injury while filming Zero, which also led him to seek treatment in the U.S.
Following the recent injury, production on King has been put on hold until Shah Rukh Khan recovers. Industry insiders note that the delay could increase production costs, but the producers are prioritizing the actor’s health above all else.
King has been in production since last year, with plans to release it in early 2026. Originally to be directed by acclaimed storyteller Sujoy Ghosh, the film is now being helmed by Siddharth Anand, best known for his directorial success with Pathaan.
Adding to the buzz, the film will mark the Bollywood debut of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, Suhana Khan. Reports suggest she will play his on-screen daughter, adding emotional depth to the narrative. Actor Abhishek Bachchan also plays a key role in the project.
