KARACHI: Singer Atif Aslam brought together a star-studded gathering to celebrate his new album Subah Aye Na, 18 years after the release of his last full-length studio project.
The event featured prominent names from Pakistan’s entertainment and music industries, including Fahad Mustafa, Asim Azhar, Talha Anjum and Hania Aamir.
What made the gathering particularly notable was the mix of personalities from different parts of the entertainment industry. Mustafa, Azhar and Anjum were seen alongside Atif during the evening, with footage from the event showing the artists performing and singing together on stage.
With Atif representing one of Pakistan’s most established musical careers, Asim Azhar bringing his pop background, Talha Anjum representing the country’s growing hip-hop scene, and Hania Aamir and Fahad Mustafa among the leading names in television and film, the gathering brought together artists who rarely appear in the same setting.
Subah Aye Na is Atif Aslam’s fourth studio album and was released on July 31. It marks his first full-length album since Meri Kahani in 2008.
The eight-track project comes after nearly two decades during which Atif remained active through film music, Coke Studio appearances and international tours.
Atif has previously spoken about returning to songwriting and composition for the new album, saying he wanted to move away from commercially driven projects and reconnect with music on a more personal level.
His discography includes albums such as Jal Pari, his 2004 debut project that featured songs including Aadat and Woh Lamhe, followed by Doorie and other successful releases.
The album celebration appeared to reflect the renewed attention surrounding Atif’s return to a full-length studio project and brought together artists from across Pakistan’s contemporary music and entertainment landscape.
