KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rainfall in several southeastern districts of Sindh on July 30 and 31, with occasional gaps.

According to the Met Office, areas likely to receive showers include Umerkot, Tharparkar, Sanghar, Mithi, and Mirpur Khas. Meanwhile, most parts of Sindh will continue to experience hot and humid weather conditions.

In Karachi, cloudy skies prevailed Monday with sea winds blowing at 24 km/h and gusts reaching up to 49 km/h. The port city is expected to remain cloudy and humid, with the temperature rising to around 32 °C. Light drizzle may occur during the morning and night hours, but no heavy rainfall is predicted in the coming week.

The PMD further reported that monsoon currents are penetrating upper and central Pakistan, while a westerly wave is expected to enter on July 29. As a result, rainfall is forecast for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan from July 27 to 31, Punjab and Islamabad from July 28 to 31, and southern Punjab and Balochistan between July 29 and 31.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is expected to witness widespread showers, with isolated heavy downpours in districts such as Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Kohat, Peshawar, and Charsadda during July 28–31.
