Karachi: Aligarh Institute of Technology (AIT) honored its Principal, Shahid Jameel, with a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his 35 years of dedicated service to the institution. The award was presented during AIT’s fifth convocation ceremony, marking a historic moment in the institute’s academic journey.

Shahid Jameel has been associated with AIT since 1990 and has played a vital role in its academic, administrative, and technical growth. He assumed the role of Principal in 2022, after previously serving as Head of the CIT and Software Departments, where he significantly contributed to institutional development.

Under his leadership, AIT introduced modern disciplines including Mechatronics, Software Engineering, Chemical Technology, and Artificial Intelligence (AI), providing students with advanced technical education and hands-on training opportunities.

The institute also launched several modern initiatives such as online classes, faculty training programs, project expos, convocations, midterm examinations, an ERP system, and a mobile application, strengthening AIT’s reputation as a trusted educational institution across Karachi and Sindh.

Speaking on the occasion, Convener Syed Muhammad Mohsin Kazmi praised Shahid Jameel’s tireless efforts, stating that his leadership placed AIT among the city’s leading institutions. Chairman Governing Body Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan described his vision, commitment, and perseverance as invaluable assets for the institute.

Faculty members, students, parents, and prominent figures from the city warmly welcomed the award and paid tribute to Shahid Jameel’s outstanding contributions.
