Parts of Alabama are in for a wet Friday as scattered showers and thunderstorms move across the state ahead of a cold front. Early radar images showed light rain over southwest Alabama, while most areas remained dry.
Forecasters say temperatures will stay in the 70s today with a mix of sunshine and clouds. The best chance for rain during the day will be across southern and central Alabama, mainly south of Interstate 20.
As the front pushes through tonight, northern counties are expected to see a few showers or storms before cooler, drier air settles in for the weekend. While rainfall won’t be widespread, residents should keep umbrellas handy, especially for evening plans and Friday night football games.
