KARACHI: Pakistani actors Ameer Gilani and Mawra Hocane have announced the arrival of their first child, revealing their newborn son’s name as Syed Azmar Hussain Kamal Gilani.
The couple shared the happy news on social media, where a video showed Ameer reciting the Azaan into his baby’s ear, a religious tradition observed by many Muslim families.
In his caption, the actor explained that Azmar means “lion” and described his son as the “king of our jungle” and their most precious treasure. He also included a Quranic verse expressing gratitude and hope.
The announcement drew congratulatory messages and prayers from fans and fellow members of the entertainment industry, who welcomed the couple into parenthood.
Gilani and Hocane married on February 5, 2025, in a ceremony held at Lahore Fort. The pair had previously won popularity for their on-screen chemistry in Pakistani television dramas, including Sabaat and Neem.
