KARACHI – The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out five separate operations across the country, arresting five suspects and seizing a total of 271.7 kilograms of drugs valued at more than Rs620 million.
According to an ANF spokesperson, 24 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a suspect in Hyderabad. At Sher Shah Toll Plaza near Multan, eight kilograms of crystal meth (ice) were found concealed in 1,452 cartons of apples, leading to the arrest of two suspects.
In another operation near the Islamabad Motorway Toll Plaza, three kilograms of heroin were recovered from a vehicle, with two suspects taken into custody. Meanwhile, 225 kilograms of opium were seized from a desert area near Kuchlak Bypass, Quetta, and 11.7 kilograms of weed were recovered from bushes in Jiwani, Gwadar.
The spokesperson added that cases have been registered against all suspects under the Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway.
