An anti polio campaign will commence in 99 designated districts across the country from September 1st.

‎In the federal capital, the National Coordinator for Polio briefed Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal on the current polio situation.

‎During the briefing, it was stated that the campaign will begin on September 1 in 99 specific districts across the country, while in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the campaign will start from September 15.

‎The National Coordinator informed the Federal Minister that during the campaign, 28 million children will be administered polio drops. He added that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, there is a firm commitment to eradicate polio.

‎Speaking on the occasion, Mustafa Kamal said that an effective strategy must be ensured to eradicate polio in high-risk areas and that he will personally monitor the campaign. He added that the polio virus is still present in our environment.

‎The Federal Minister further stated that vaccination must be ensured to stop the spread of the virus, adding, “There is treatment for cancer worldwide, but there is no treatment for polio. Parents must ensure their children receive polio drops for a healthy future.”

‎He also urged parents not to believe in any negative propaganda and to protect their children from permanent disability.
