Karachi, June 28, 2025 The APMSO (All Pakistan Muttahida Students Organization) has termed the four-year long forensic audit being conducted at Karachi University as a grim step that started since corruption allegations were leveled against the institutes faculty members as well as and after Chief Minister Sindh ordered the audit.

The audit is a good move in the interest of students as indicated by APMSO In-charge Hafiz Shehryar Khan; however, there are some burning questions to be answered. The organization raised a question as to whether the audit will impart the actual cause of the declination in education, research and facilities at the university.

APMSO criticized why government grants and donations were used over the last four years and why they could not tackle the fundamental needs of students like scholarships, classroom shortage, and lab shortage, etc. Issues were also raised concerning the transparency in recruitments and the likelihood of political preferences.

The student fraternity was crying out to get answers, whether the culprits in the financial manipulation will be taken to task, and whether high profile big wigs such as the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, and Directors amongst others would be called in line to explain their misdeeds. APMSO was also telling the authorities to release the audit report.

They also insisted on having a student-representative independent body included during the inquiry and equal punishment to everyone involved in corruption. The APMSO vowed to keep on raising its voice on justice, transparency, and institutional reforms.
