Islamabad — The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad has issued arrest warrants for eight senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including Asad Qaiser, Shibli Faraz, Omar Ayub, and Ali Nawaz Awan, after repeated absences from court proceedings.
The case, registered under anti-terrorism laws by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), accuses the PTI leaders of involvement in activities deemed to fall under the scope of terrorism.
ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Supra expressed strong displeasure over the leaders’ continued non-appearance and directed authorities to produce them before the court by November 11. The hearing was later adjourned to the next date.
Meanwhile, in a separate case, Additional District and Sessions Judge Nasrullah Baloch issued non-bailable arrest warrants for former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in connection with an alleged audio leak case.
The court noted that Gandapur failed to appear despite repeated summons, delaying the framing of charges. The judge ordered police to arrest and present him before the court, adjourning the hearing until December 5.
