Lahore, September 7, 2025 — Customs authorities at Allama Iqbal International Airport foiled an attempt to smuggle a large consignment of silver from Dubai and arrested a passenger.
According to officials, seven kilograms of silver were recovered during the search of passenger Muhammad Shafiq, a resident of Okara, who had cleverly concealed the metal by stitching it into a specially designed jacket worn under his shirt.
The seized silver, valued at more than Rs2.6 million, was being brought into Pakistan for sale in the local market. Customs further confirmed that the accused did not possess any legal documents for carrying the consignment.
A case has been registered against the suspect, and further investigation is underway.
