Pakistan captain Babar Azam reached another landmark in his illustrious Test career during the ongoing Test match against South Africa, adding yet another milestone to his growing legacy in red-ball cricket.

Babar crossed the 4,000-run mark in Test cricket, becoming only the 15th Pakistani batter to achieve this feat. The elegant right-hander reached the milestone in his 58th Test match, continuing to lead from the front as Pakistan’s most consistent performer across formats.

His innings was a masterclass in temperament and shot selection, guiding Pakistan through a challenging spell against a strong South African pace attack led by Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen.

With this achievement, Babar joins the elite list of Pakistani legends including Younis Khan, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Javed Miandad, and Mohammad Yousuf, further solidifying his place among the modern greats of the game.

The 30-year-old has also maintained an impressive Test average of over 45, reflecting his consistency in both home and away conditions.

Fans and cricket analysts around the world have praised Babar’s continued excellence, with many calling him the “backbone of Pakistan’s batting lineup” and one of the finest batsmen of his generation.

Pakistan will look to build on Babar’s form as they aim to secure crucial World Test Championship (WTC) points in their ongoing tour of South Africa.
