Pakistan’s newly appointed ODI captain Shaheen Afridi and star batter Babar Azam have experienced a decline in the latest ICC One-Day International (ODI) rankings, even as some other national players recorded improvements.
In the batting rankings, former captain Babar Azam moved down one place to fifth position with 728 rating points. Meanwhile, Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman each climbed one spot, standing at 23rd and 26th, respectively.
Salman Ali Agha, who impressed with a crucial innings in the first ODI against South Africa, made significant progress — jumping nine places to 30th with 569 points.
Imam-ul-Haq slipped to 42nd, while young opener Saim Ayub maintained his ranking at 53rd with 509 points.
At the top, India’s Rohit Sharma continues to lead the ODI batting rankings, followed by Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran in second. New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell climbed two spots to third, pushing India’s Shubman Gill down to fourth.
In the bowling category, Shaheen Afridi dropped one place to 15th with 587 points, while Naseem Shah jumped ten positions to 33rd after an impressive series.
Leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed moved up to 37th, and all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz gained three places to reach 69th with 436 points.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan remains the top-ranked ODI bowler, followed by South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj in second and England’s Jofra Archer, who advanced to third. Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana slipped to fourth in the latest update.
