The Sydney Sixers have officially launched a special fan zone called “Babaristan” to welcome Pakistan’s cricket star Babar Azam ahead of his debut in the upcoming 2025–26 Big Bash League season. The announcement, made through the team’s social media pages, instantly went viral, sparking massive excitement among Pakistani cricket fans around the world.

In their post, the Sixers wrote, “Introducing Babaristan — a fan zone like no other. Join us at the SCG to celebrate cricket culture and the arrival of Babar Azam.” Within hours, fans began sharing the post, calling it one of the most creative ways any franchise has ever welcomed an overseas player.

The Babaristan zone will be set up at the Sydney Cricket Ground, where a section of seats will be dedicated to Babar’s supporters, decorated with special banners, flags, and themed merchandise. The idea, according to team insiders, is to give fans a place to celebrate one of the world’s most popular batters while bringing a touch of Pakistani energy to the BBL atmosphere.

Babar Azam also shared a message for his supporters, saying he’s thrilled to join the Sixers family and can’t wait to meet his fans in person. “I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone in Babaristan,” he said. “Let’s make this season special together.”

Babar’s inclusion in the Sixers lineup is already being called one of the biggest moves of this BBL season. His addition not only strengthens the team’s batting lineup but also draws immense attention from Pakistan and South Asia, regions where cricket fandom runs deep.

The Sixers will open their campaign in mid-December, with Babar expected to play his first BBL match on December 17 against the Adelaide Strikers. For many, this isn’t just another debut — it’s a crossover moment where Australian cricket meets Pakistani passion, and “Babaristan” is the bridge that brings the two worlds together.
