KARACHI: A new chapter in community-based education will begin on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, as the Bahadur Yar Jang School is set to open in Block 11, Gulberg Town, Karachi. The inauguration ceremony will take place at 10:30 AM, near Shadab Ground, and will be led by Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan.
This school initiative is a project of the Town Municipal Corporation (TMC) Gulberg, aimed at expanding quality educational opportunities for underprivileged children in the area. The event will be attended by several key dignitaries including TMC Chairman Nusrat Ullah, Municipal Commissioner Abdul Hameed Suhaq, Director of Education M. Nadeem Hanif, and Vice Chairman Muhammad Ilyas.
Speaking ahead of the inauguration, Chairman Nusrat Ullah remarked, “The Bahadur Yar Jang School will serve as a model institution for the entire Gulberg Town. Our focus is to uplift educational standards and ensure access to quality learning for every child, regardless of background.”
Director of Education M. Nadeem Hanif highlighted the importance of such community-driven projects: “This school is more than just a building; it’s a symbol of educational reform and social inclusion. We are committed to equipping it with capable teachers, modern facilities, and a vision for excellence.”
The school will cater primarily to students from low-income households and is expected to play a significant role in community development through education. The initiative reflects a growing recognition of the importance of local government participation in the educational uplift of urban areas.
