The Punjab government has taken strict action against those responsible for the incident of video recording during C sections at Lady Willingdon Hospital.
The Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department has suspended the postgraduate training of Dr Tayyaba Fatima Toor, Dr Maham Amin, Dr Zainab Tahir, and Dr Ayesha Afzal for their involvement in the incident, and directed the said postgraduate residents to report to the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department.
On the other hand, the Health Department has also sought a response within three days from MS Lady Willingdon Hospital Dr Farah Inam and Head of the Gynecology Department Professor Dr Uzma Hussain.
Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said that such alleged actions represent a violation of medical ethics, disrespect to patient dignity, and breach of professional conduct, which are strictly prohibited under government rules and hospital SOPs.
Punjab Health Secretary Azmat Mahmood stated that if a satisfactory response is not submitted within the given time, disciplinary action will be initiated.
