Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has cautioned that the fragile ceasefire between Pakistan and India could be in jeopardy if the longstanding water dispute remains unresolved in the upcoming bilateral talks. In an interview with CNN, Dar said, “Failure to resolve the water issue will amount to an act of war.” He emphasized that water security is a critical matter that demands urgent attention. The foreign minister also reiterated that Kashmir remains the core issue fueling regional tensions. “The root cause of this regional instability is Kashmir,” he stated, adding that its people must be granted the right to self-determination.
