QUETTA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir on Wednesday vowed to decisively counter all forms of foreign-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan following a tragic attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, Balochistan, which claimed the lives of at least five individuals, including three schoolchildren.

During an emergency visit to Quetta, the Prime Minister and the Army Chief met with injured victims and their families. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, they were briefed by Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and the Quetta Corps Commander on the details of the attack.

The Prime Minister strongly condemned the targeting of innocent civilians, particularly children, and expressed unwavering support for the country’s security forces and law enforcement agencies. He affirmed that the state will take all necessary steps to ensure justice and the protection of its citizens.

“The entire nation stands united with its Armed Forces in eradicating the menace of terrorism,” PM Shehbaz stated, adding that those behind the attack would be relentlessly pursued and brought to justice.

The Premier also raised concerns over the use of terrorism as a foreign policy tool by certain actors, urging the international community to take note and condemn such practices unequivocally.

General Munir reaffirmed the military’s commitment to defending national security and called for coordinated efforts to root out threats to peace and stability.

The government has directed a full investigation into the Khuzdar incident, with security agencies actively working to identify and apprehend those responsible.
