Peshawar — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced compensation of Rs 10 million for each family that lost their loved ones in the recent Tirah Valley incident.

According to Dawn News, the Chief Minister met with a delegation from Khyber district to review the security situation. The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary (Home), and Peshawar’s Commissioner.

Prayers were offered for the victims, and a detailed discussion was held on measures to prevent such incidents in the future. The CM stated that the loss of innocent civilians was “tragic and unacceptable.”

It was also decided that a jirga of local elders would meet senior military officials to chalk out a joint strategy for long-term peace, similar to the Bajaur model.

Local representatives claim that women and children were also among the dead, but the exact circumstances of the tragedy remain unverified.
