KARACHI: In a major daylight heist, six armed robbers riding two motorcycles looted Rs15.6 million from employees of a Korean seafood export company near Keamari Fish Harbour on Monday.
According to police, the suspects intercepted the company staff’s vehicle at the entrance gate and snatched the cash bag at gunpoint without facing resistance. The security guard deployed with the staff was disarmed during the incident and failed to retaliate.
Law enforcement officials have obtained CCTV footage and other forensic evidence, while the company’s accountant and the security guard have been taken into custody for interrogation.
A company spokesperson confirmed that the stolen amount was allocated for employee bonuses. Police teams are pursuing leads to apprehend the culprits.
