A decision has been made to completely digitize the Pakistan Nursing Council.
An important meeting regarding the Pakistan Nursing Council was held under the chairmanship of Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal, which was also attended by the Federal Health Secretary and Additional Secretary. In the meeting, significant decisions were taken regarding the full digitalization of the council.
Addressing the participants, Mustafa Kamal said that all affairs of the council should be computerized as soon as possible, and human involvement should be minimized to ensure merit and transparency.
He said that the lost credibility of the nursing sector will be restored, and the Pakistan Nursing Council will be transformed into a modern, effective, and internationally recognized institution. The nursing profession holds great importance in the health sector, he added.
The Federal Health Minister stated that Pakistan is currently facing a shortage of 900,000 nurses, while globally there is a shortage of around 2.5 million qualified nurses. He assured that integrated and effective measures will be ensured to strengthen the nursing sector.
Mustafa Kamal further said that the nursing sector will be developed on modern lines, and the process of reforms for its improvement is ongoing.
