Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has decided to introduce the latest intravascular surgery technique for cardiac diseases in Punjab.
A delegation led by Chairman Board of Directors of Oklahoma Heart Hospital Dr Naeem Tahir Kheli met Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed steps to be taken for the purchase of modern medical equipment for intravascular surgery, while American doctors will provide training to local doctors in the latest intravascular surgery techniques.
During the briefing, it was stated that intravascular surgery is a modern and safest alternative to traditional open surgery, in which angioplasty, stent placement and ablation are performed through a small incision in the blood vessel.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif ordered steps to introduce this advanced cardiac procedure at Jinnah Institute of Cardiology and Nawaz Sharif Medical City, and agreed to the proposal to provide training to doctors from Children Hospital, Nishtar Hospital and Jinnah Hospital.
