An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Provincial Health and Population Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir, in which the use of modern technology, particularly AI, in community outreach programs was considered.
The meeting was attended by AS Technical Dr Zohaib, Captain (R) Dr Muhammad Usman, Dr Pervez, and other relevant officials.
During the meeting, proposals to include AI tools and portable ultrasound machines in outreach programs were reviewed. On this occasion, the Provincial Health Minister said that the vision of Maryam Nawaz is to effectively utilize modern technology for better maternal and child health outcomes.
He stated that in the first phase, a pilot project will be launched in selected districts of Punjab’s North, South, and Central regions, while the aim of the program is to provide quality healthcare facilities to women at their doorstep.
According to Khawaja Imran Nazir, AI technology will enable effective monitoring of pregnant women’s health and provide timely guidance, while AI enabled portable ultrasound devices will allow on the spot diagnosis.
He further said that initial screening will help provide better treatment opportunities and that this program will contribute to strengthening the public health system.
