Islamabad: Several unemployed individuals were allegedly defrauded of millions of rupees in Islamabad’s Khanna Pul area under the pretext of job placements.

According to the FIR, suspects published job advertisements in newspapers and invited unsuspecting applicants to Islamabad. Interviews were conducted at an office operating under the name MARS BPO near Khanna Pul.

The complainants stated that applicants were first charged Rs6,000 each in the name of training. After the completion of training, they were allegedly asked to pay Rs1.4 million each as a “guarantee” for employment.

Dozens of young men from Mardan reportedly fell victim to the scam, collectively losing Rs4.2 million. Despite making the payments, none of the applicants were provided jobs.

The FIR further states that when victims demanded the return of their money, they were allegedly threatened and subjected to intimidation and violence.

Police at Khanna Police Station have registered a case and initiated an investigation. However, no arrests have been made so far. According to the FIR, individuals associated with a company identified as Tains are allegedly involved in defrauding hundreds of people on the pretext of employment.
