Dubai:
Residents across the UAE are waking up to another day of dusty skies and gusty winds, with the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issuing a fresh alert for reduced visibility. The dust warning, in effect until 9 a.m., urges motorists and those with allergies or respiratory issues to exercise caution and, if possible, stay indoors.
According to the NCM, the weather will remain partly cloudy and dusty throughout the day, with air quality likely to fluctuate as wind speeds pick up in exposed areas. The strong northwesterly winds are stirring up sand and dust, causing visibility to drop in parts of the interior and coastal regions.
By evening, cloud cover is expected to increase over the northern and coastal parts of the country, and a few islands might even see light rain showers, forecasters said.
Temperature readings remain on the higher side for early November. Inland regions are expected to record between 33°C and 37°C, while coastal and island areas will see highs of 30°C to 34°C. The mountainous zones will stay considerably cooler, hovering between 15°C and 20°C.
On Wednesday, Sweihan in Al Ain registered the highest temperature in the UAE at 37.8°C, recorded around 2:30 p.m.
As night approaches, humidity levels are forecast to dip slightly, though light to moderate winds will persist, occasionally strengthening and stirring up more dust.
