The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has announced the immediate implementation of a new syllabus for all matric and intermediate classes, officially replacing the old curriculum.

According to a notification issued by the board, all educational institutions affiliated with the Federal Board have been directed to download and adopt the updated syllabus from the board’s official website. The new curriculum has been developed in line with modern academic requirements and will be applied to all schools and colleges under the board’s jurisdiction across Pakistan.

The decision aligns with the federal government’s broader education and technology agenda. Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that strengthening the IT sector and enhancing IT-related exports are key national priorities. He directed provincial governments to collaborate in ensuring high-quality and uniform IT education and training nationwide.

The Prime Minister also instructed that IT be introduced as a subject from grade six onward and called for the launch of specialized IT training programs in Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and Balochistan. He further highlighted the need to enhance IT education across schools, colleges, and universities, ensuring training programs are of international quality to help graduates secure employment opportunities.

During a related briefing, officials informed that internet facilities in Islamabad’s schools are being upgraded to support digital learning and IT education initiatives.
