Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal met with the Saudi Minister of Health in Riyadh, where they discussed strengthening cooperation and promoting bilateral relations in the health sector.
According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, the meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere. Both ministers held detailed discussions on anti polio campaigns in Pakistan and Afghanistan and also reviewed plans for upcoming initiatives.
Federal Minister Mustafa Kamal stated that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy strong historical and brotherly relations based on solid foundations.
He further said that the eradication of polio is one of the top priorities of the Government of Pakistan, and under the leadership of the Prime Minister, extensive efforts are being made across the country to eliminate the disease.
Mustafa Kamal informed that during the year 2025, four national anti-polio campaigns have been successfully conducted so far, reaching 45 million children with polio vaccines. Due to high-quality campaigns, a significant decline in cases has been observed; however, the mission is not yet complete.
The Saudi delegation appreciated Pakistan’s efforts toward polio eradication and assured continued cooperation in the future.
