Islamabad: The FIA National Central Bureau (NCB) Interpol has arrested a proclaimed offender wanted in a murder case from Saudi Arabia in a major international operation.
The suspect, identified as Khushnud Mushtaq, was apprehended in Saudi Arabia and deported to Pakistan, where he was brought to Islamabad Airport. Officials stated that the accused had been wanted by Punjab Police for the past two years.
According to authorities, a murder case was registered against the suspect in 2023 at Ali Pur Police Station in Gujranwala. The FIA NCB Interpol had earlier issued a Red Notice for his arrest.
Following his arrival in Pakistan, FIA Immigration officials handed over the accused to Punjab Police. Officials said the arrest and repatriation were made possible due to close coordination between Interpol Islamabad and Interpol Riyadh.
