Karachi: The FIA Immigration staff at Karachi Airport offloaded a passenger after he was found traveling on a visa obtained through forged documents.
According to officials, the suspect—identified as Muhammad Asif—was scheduled to depart for Saudi Arabia on an international flight. His passport carried a visa for employment as a heavy-truck driver.
During verification, the passenger presented an HTV licence purportedly issued by the Clifton Licensing Branch, which was later confirmed to be fake. The suspect is a resident of Karachi.
Initial investigation revealed that Asif had acquired the bogus licence from an agent for Rs. 127,000. He further confessed that he had never visited the Clifton licence branch himself.
The FIA handed the accused over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Karachi for further interrogation and to identify the agent involved in the forgery. The investigation is ongoing.
