For the first time in Islamabad’s history, a successful robotic surgery has been performed.
According to the details, a modern robotic surgery procedure has been successfully completed at PIMS Hospital.
A successful operation was carried out using robotic technology at PIMS. The latest two-arm surgical robot was used for the procedure.
International experts from the United Kingdom also took part in the surgery. Professor Shameem Khan, Professor Muteen Sharif, and Dr. Javed Burki from PIMS supervised the operation.
In addition, PIMS specialists Dr. Atif Inam Shami, Dr. Burhan ul Haq, and Dr. Khalid Saeed also participated.
PIMS Executive Director Dr. Imran Sikandar said that this is the first time in the hospital’s history that robotic surgery has been performed. He stated that many operations are technically difficult, and robotic assistance is taken for such procedures.
He further said that robotic operations cause minimal discomfort to patients. He expressed hope that more successful procedures of this kind will be carried out at PIMS. With robotic surgery, complex operations will now become safer and more effective.
