Malakand: Five members of a family were shot dead in their sleep when armed assailants stormed a house in the Kundako Dheri area of Malakand Division, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, late Sunday night.
According to a report from the Levies post in Khar, the complainant, Nazia Bibi — wife of Abdul Wakeel and daughter of Shah Zameen — alleged that the attackers, identified as Mansoor (son of Zarifullah), Sharifullah, and Zarifullah (sons of Zaibullah), residents of Meekh Band, entered the house and opened indiscriminate fire. The victims — Shah Zameen (father), Saeed Gul (grandfather), Ameer Zad Gai (mother), Mehr Zameena (grandmother), and Nazish (sister) — died on the spot.
The FIR states that the motive behind the killings was a family dispute following the separation of the suspects’ sister, Nazish, from her husband.
Upon receiving the report, Assistant Commissioner Riaz Mehsud, Subedar Major Samiullah Bacha, and Post Commander Fazal Akbar visited the crime scene with a heavy contingent of Levies personnel, collected evidence, and ordered an immediate manhunt for the suspects.
Residents of the area expressed deep grief over the tragedy and demanded the swift arrest of those responsible.
