LAHORE– The Lahore Police have dismissed four Dolphin Force officials after they were found guilty of taking bribes from a citizen. The action was taken on the instructions of DIG Operations Faisal Kamran, who emphasized that strict accountability is being ensured within the police force.
The dismissed officials, identified as Tahir, Qaiser, Yasin, and Khadim Ali, were proven guilty in an inquiry conducted after allegations surfaced that they extorted money from a doctor near Haji Camp on September 17. According to the inquiry report, the officials had taken the doctor to a deserted plot, threatened him with dire consequences, and forced him to pay Rs29,000.
DIG Faisal Kamran stated that such black sheep tarnish the reputation of the police and will not be tolerated. He added that more than 400 punishments have been awarded under departmental accountability over the past 18 months.
