The government has decided to launch the national anti-polio campaign from October 13.
According to the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC), the national anti polio campaign will continue across the country from October 13 to 19, during which more than 45 million children will be administered polio drops.
Officials stated that during the campaign starting on October 13, children will also be given additional doses of Vitamin A to strengthen their immunity. More than 400,000 trained polio workers will perform their duties during the campaign.
According to the NEOC, in Punjab, over 23 million children under the age of five will be administered polio drops from October 13 to 19, in Sindh over 10.6 million, in Balochistan over 2.6 million, and in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over 7.2 million children.
Similarly, in Islamabad, more than 460,000, in Azad Jammu and Kashmir over 760,000, and in Gilgit-Baltistan more than 280,000 children under the age of five will be administered polio drops from October 13 to 19.
The NEOC has appealed to parents to ensure that their children receive polio drops during the nationwide campaign being conducted from October 13 to 19.
